Starting in October, 2008 the DFA will have a Hammer-in every 3rd SATURDAY of the month Hammer-ins are FREE for DFA Members! LOCATION:
Abner has a great shop setup with a COAL FORGE and plenty of room for setting up your rig. We just can't seem to get enough hammer time on Delmarva. You never know who is going to show up at one of these events. We get race platers bringing their swage blocks so anybody that wants to try swaging hand made race plates can have a go at it. Often folks who enjoy forging competitions show up to practice for their next meet. Sometimes we build hand made draft shoes in two-man teams, sometimes we build tools, sometimes we do decorative blacksmithing and fabrication. Usually somebody brings a horse for us to work on too! No matter if you're just starting out or if you've been shoein' for decades, you will learn something new AND you will probably show something you know to somebody else. |
